First establish whether the battery is faulty or not being charged
A battery that stays at a low percentage may be healthy but unable to charge because of inverter settings, limited solar production, an interrupted AC supply or a communications fault. We ask whether the issue occurs during sunny periods, whether the inverter reports an alarm and whether backup operation has changed. Battery chemistry, model and age all influence the diagnosis. The displayed percentage is an estimate produced by the equipment; it is not by itself proof that the storage cells have failed.
