Identify the chamber and whose network it belongs to
An inspection chamber provides an access point to a drain; it is not simply a convenient hole to cover. We establish whether the chamber serves a single property, a shared sectional-title line or infrastructure that belongs to the municipality. A broken private chamber should be distinguished from a public sewer manhole. We also check whether the problem is a damaged cover, collapsing sidewall, blocked benching or an incoming or outgoing pipe joint.
