Start with the purpose of the stored water
A tank intended for garden use is not automatically suitable for feeding indoor domestic outlets. Water source, expected use, pressure requirements and backflow protection all change the design. We begin by identifying whether the project is for irrigation, backup supply or another permitted application.
Capacity is only one part of the calculation. Space around the tank for servicing, access for delivery and the support under the stored water all matter. A full tank is heavy, so the base must be level and appropriate for the load and manufacturer requirements.
